Horizon

This rain splashed the wind shield of the car like the sky could no more bear the burden of the droplets anymore and Tathiksha’s eyes were pouring out their heart to let go of the overbearing emotions in which they could breathe no more. The mind was making its way to the heart to console as far as possible by giving all kinds of analytical and logical answers that the heart put forth. The debate between the heart and the mind seemed never ending.

Carefully maneuvering the steering wheel of the car Tathiksha looked around in the car and felt as if the car was responding to her each and every heart beat. Thoughts floated to the days that she had spent some time about a year and half back and battled to figure out, what was it that she missed noticing, when she was having that amazing cup of coffee with a company she felt highly spirited. The frown on the forehead made the supple face look like as if it was carrying a burden of a lifetime.

‘Did I really hear correctly what he said?, Did I properly read and understand what he wrote? Did he really mean what he said?’…the questions pounded the head like million hammers hitting the delicate veins with vengeance. Yet, the car was sailing smooth with all the upheaval going inside Tathiksha and the horrid pouring rain outside.

Driving on the roads to Goa, Tathiksha, could no more hear the music playing full blast inside her car and friends chatting and jabbering constantly. The car’s engine and Tathiksha’s mind synchronized their motion concentrating on nothing else but the road, yet both walking separate paths of thoughts. The car was maintaining its efficiency of being the car of the year and Tathiksha being the performer of the year.

The taste of the coffee she had tasted some 2 years back, seemed just like yesterday and the sound of that voice crystal clear ringing so close to her ear, which almost made her get goosebumps. ‘Could we really be so evil?’, she thought, ‘Could we really become so numb?’,’ Could we really be such indifferent?’..slowly as she let her breath out, she could hear the passing air from her lungs reply ‘Yes my dear’.

The beaches of Goa welcomed the free birds embracing with waves washing the shores and splashing water by a dozen of feet, hands entwined with each other and voices singing as loud and hard they could. Silently, a tiny hope wriggled its way out of the guts and as the rays shone on her cheeks, Tathiksha looked up into the sky and whispered to the source of this universe…’Hope you watching me, because you will have some more pages to write in your giant register…dedicated to me’.

A moment of still silence stood holding Tathiksha with fragrance of first summer rain, the warm cosy feeling of the blanket in a chilly winter and the softness of the palm of a child holding your hand. Looking as far as her eyes could see, the sea stretched into the horizon..reminding her..what the life beholds..faith, hope and perseverance..Truth shall prevail.
